This week “Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds” (Future Support Fund), founded by Rietumu Bank, purchased and handed over a batch of warm blankets for the people of Ukrain.

The Fund bought warm wool blankets manufactured in Latvia. In the upcoming days they will be delivered to Ukraine and handed over to local organisations for distribution to those in need.

Inga Shina, Chairperson of the Board of “Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds”, notes: “We are encouraged by the impressive solidarity with the people of Ukraine and the desire to help its affected inhabitants that we see in Latvia. Our charity fund joined this movement from the early days of the crisis. Warm blankets' donation is our next practical step. We aim to provide persons affected with the help that is most needed. The Fund is currently developing a programme to support Ukrainian refugees in Latvia. This includes providing help to mothers with young children and making arrangements for school-age children's studies. We are closely cooperating with the Ukrainian School in Riga and the city municipality on these issues.”
