On help and support for refugees

7 March 2022, 17:05

Dear friends, These days charity fund “Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds” (“Future Support Fund”), founded by Rietumu Bank, is being approached by clients, partners and employees of the bank with offers of assistance to Ukrainian refugees and persons aggrieves, as well as questions about how and to whom such assistance should be directed.

For our part, we can inform you that the Fund is in contact with those organisations and state institutions that are involved in receiving and assisting refugees. Significant funds have already been allocated and collected for this purpose. It is also clear that funds for such support will be needed in the future.

“Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds” is working to identify where these funds are particularly needed, such as in the areas of medical care, shelter and food for victims, transport, assistance for mothers with young children and schoolchildren from refugee families, etc.

We are also in contact with the charity organisation ziedot.lv, which is now one of the collectors for donations in Latvia.

We would like to inform you that Rietumu employees and their families continue to collect items needed for the victims, as well as actively participating in other forms of help and support.

Those, who wish to donate funds, can find the details of our charity fund here: https://www.naf.lv/about/.

“Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds” is open to consider assistance projects for persons aggrieves that come directly to the fund.
