We inform you as follows. In Belarus, the use of the cards is halted across the country at all merchant locations and e-shops where the card acceptance service is provided by a Belarusian bank that is subject to the regulatory framework of sanctions legally binding upon the Republic of Latvia. The halt may also entail restrictions on ATM cash withdrawals.
This means that you may encounter, starting from 16 October 2023, a refusal to accept Rietumu Bank-issued card for payments and for cash transactions in Belarus.
If you are travelling to Belarus, please make sure that you have cash and alternative means of payment.
We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia urges Latvia’s nationals to refrain from travelling to Belarus, and those, who are already in the country, to depart.Starting from 28 September Rietumu Bank increases interest rates on majority of deposits in euro.
